Foundation of Vrijvrouwe van Renswoude Delft

The buildings of Museumhuizen Focus are open a few times a month. Here you won’t see all the rooms completed furnished, but smaller individual exhibitions focusing on a specific point of interest within the house. The Fundatie van Renswoude will open her doors in September 2018

The ‘High society ladies’ Fundatie van Renswoude is an 18th century majestic looking building right in the centre of the historical city of Delft. All the restored rooms have their own individual feel. Come and walk over beautiful barefoot marble floors to the Lodewijk XV’s style Regents room. Admire the rococo plasterwork, and also the original Utrecht deep rich red velvet covered wall.

Utrecht velvet

The Regents room still has the original Utrecht red / brown velvet wall coverings and a marble fireplace, which has to be one of the finest Lodewijk XV examples to be found in the Netherlands.

Imprinted with children’s footprints

Using children’s footprints on bare foot marble is a special way of finishing marble. The light coloured floor was literally imprinted with children’s footprints, dipped in dark brown paint.

Opening times

Fundatie van Vrijvrouwe van Renswoude is open every 3rd Sunday of the month from 12.00 to 16.00.
